It was actually a serious question in my mind when I first joined Toastmasters. Back then, it seemed to be an overused word during meetings. I was so confused.
That's interesting. I generally don't hear that word, but according to Google, it's a person at an event who proposes toasts and makes announcements. I guess I haven't been to many large formal events that would have someone in this role.
